What to feed a parrot in Minecraft. How to tame animals in Minecraft. What a wonderful mob

Yeah…! Today I decided to write an article about what will be added to Minecraft 1.12 by Maria Lemon and Nathan Adams.

From Maria I was expecting a bird, and discussing her mob with many people, I was almost sure that it would be a parrot.

And indeed it is!

A parrot will be added to Minecraft 1.12!

Here's a video showing what it looks like.

The parrot looks great, and it can also be tamed.

Update: You can tame a parrot using wheat. , cookies used to be used for this.

I wonder if there are cages?! ;)

Well, since I feel sorry for my text, I will still leave a fragment of the article dedicated to my expectations of the parrot:

Secret mob Minecraft 1.12

At the same time, after the hype on Twitter created by , she gave a few more hints and the most important one today:

“Looks like my new mob will appear in the snapshot next week. We just finished working on the model with the help of RazzleBerryFox :) It’s just awesome!”

Obviously, it was not at all accidental that she used the word “flytastic” (instead of “fantastic”) and most likely we are talking about the characteristics of the mob: it can fly.

Now, stepping onto the shaky ground of assumptions, we can say that most likely we are talking about a bird. I don’t know about you, but I personally really miss birds in Minecraft. And, of course, the pirate bird itself, which correlates with Maria's early messages, is the parrot!

Although, of course, it could turn out to be something completely different. For example, a flying fish or some kind of Ender Ghast to help the Ender Dragon.

P.S. The images of parrots that are presented in the article (with the exception of the video) are not related to the mob realized by Maria. They are taken from the mod description

Parrots are very funny birds. They can be taught to talk, but be careful, otherwise he will swear like a shoemaker.

Parrots finally appeared in Minecraft in version 1.12!

What a wonderful mob?

Minecraft parrot very friendly. It flies, and you can find it in.

You can tame it with any seeds and plant it on your shoulder. If you want to place a parrot on your shoulder, stand next to it, it will sit down on its own, and you can remove it by pressing RMB. Two parrots can live on your shoulder at the same time, but as soon as you jump or fall, they will fly away.

Never try to feed minecraft parrot cookies! They get poisoned from the cookies and die.

Varieties

In the game you can find parrots of five different colors, but these are not just colors, but also two different breeds:

  • gray - Corella
  • red - Ara
  • light green and blue - Hyocinth Macaw
  • blue - blue-yellow Macaw

The parrot eats Minecraft: all types of seeds and wheat. It just doesn't make sense.

What can they do?

In the game they can imitate the sounds of different evil mobs. They help the player, they find hostile mobs and do their best to show you where he is sitting.

But if you decide to play the record on the player, then minecraft parrot will support you and as soon as the music starts he will start dancing, flying and moving his head.

Interesting to know about minecraft parrots

  • they die if you feed them cookies
  • flies well
  • sitting on the player's shoulder, the parrot will look in the same direction as the player. When it is on your shoulder, it is not considered a separate mob, and you are assigned a separate tag
  • minecraft parrot has no children, and there are no plans to add them to the game
  • The interesting thing is that after jumping, the parrot will fly off you, but you can fly with the help of, shoot from, or, without worrying that the parrot will fall off

Many animals in Minecraft can become useful companions and loyal friends. In this guide we will tell you which mobs can be domesticated, how to tame pets in Minecraft and breed them. And as a bonus, we’ll recommend some interesting mods to expand your taming options.

Please note that only neutral animals can be tamed. Mobs that are hostile by default (such as zombies or dragons) cannot be tamed. You also cannot “make friends” again with creatures you have already attacked.

How to tame a horse

Taming horses in Minecraft does not require any resources. All you need to do is find a suitable horse and right-click on it without holding any objects in your hands. After this, you will find yourself on horseback, but you will not be able to control the horse. Besides, after a while she will throw you off. These steps must be repeated until hearts appear above the horse. After that, she will stop throwing you off, but will still be uncontrollable.

To use it as a mount, you need a saddle. It is not craftable, but can be found in chests or from merchants in the village. In addition to the saddle, you can also put armor on your horse, which will significantly increase the animal’s survivability.

Once you have tamed several horses, you can breed them. To do this, you need to feed two animals with a golden carrot or a golden apple. Generally, foals have higher speed and HP than their parents. Also in Minecraft you can find donkeys, which can be tamed in the same way as horses. And if you cross them with a horse, you will get a mule that can carry two full chests. But it cannot be used as a mount.

How to tame a wolf

Wolves in Minecraft can become excellent defenders, because they have high speed and high damage. To tame them you need to get a bone, which drops when you kill a skeleton. You need to take it in your hand and right-click on the wolf. After each bone eaten, the wolf has a 1/3 chance of being tamed. After 12 attempts in a row, the wolf is guaranteed to be tamed.

A tamed wolf differs from a wild one in both characteristics and appearance. It has larger eyes and an erect tail. In addition, he will have a red collar, which can be recolored by applying any dye to the pet. A tamed wolf is much stronger than a wild one. He has 5 times more health and attacks 2.5 times stronger. Thanks to this, a pack of wolves will help you fight even the most powerful enemies.

At the moment there are no restrictions on the number of tamed wolves in Minecraft. You can create a flock of any size. At the same time, it is much more profitable to breed already tamed wolves than to look for new ones. For wolf cubs to appear, you need to give your two wolves one piece of meat or fish each (they must have maximum health). A newborn pet does not need to be tamed; it will immediately be wearing a collar.

How to tame an ocelot/cat

In Minecraft versions prior to 1.14, players have the ability to tame an ocelot by turning it into a house cat. Taming this mob requires not only resources, but also certain behavior.

Ocelots are very shy and will run away when the player suddenly approaches. To interest them, you need to approach slowly (preferably with the Shift button pressed), holding raw fish in your hands. The ocelot itself will begin to gradually approach you, but will immediately run away if you take out another object or make a sudden movement. As soon as the animal gets close enough, you need to feed it by right-clicking. The chance of taming is about 50% for each fish fed. It is recommended to take more bait so as not to miss the opportunity, because trying again will take a lot of time. If successful, the ocelot's appearance will change and it will become more like a domestic cat.

A tamed ocelot in Minecraft is similar to a wolf in many ways, but has some advantages and disadvantages. Cats are more capricious, which is reflected in the following features:

  • both wild and tame ocelots are hostile to chickens and kill them at any opportunity, even if the birds belong to the player;
  • cats hardly sit still, they can sleep on beds and stoves, and also jump on tables;
  • this mob repels creepers, which makes it a very valuable companion, especially in narrow mines;
  • cats do not suffer damage from falling from any height;
  • Ocelots do not need to be fed to breed; they reproduce on their own.

Since version 1.14, cats and ocelots are different creatures. Now ocelots cannot be tamed, you can only gain their trust so that they are not afraid of the player. Cats come in 11 colors and spawn near villages. The color is determined randomly, but on a full moon and in the witch's hut, only black cats with orange eyes appear. Cats are a little easier to tame; they run up to a player with fish almost without fear. Also in version 1.14, they, like wolves, reproduce after feeding with their favorite food. In addition, now they scare away not creepers, but phantoms.

How to tame pigs, cows, sheep and chickens

These mobs cannot be fully tamed, but you can lure them into a pen to limit movement and control breeding. All of them play an important role in Minecraft, as they can be a source of valuable resources. For example, you can get wool from sheep, milk from cows, and eggs from chickens. Mushroom cows are of particular value. Even one such mob is an inexhaustible source of food, because by picking up a bowl and right-clicking on such a cow, you will get mushroom stew.

It is very easy to lure animals into the fence. Sheep and cows (including mushrooms) are interested in wheat, pigs are interested in potatoes, carrots and beets, and chickens are interested in any kind of seeds. The same resources are used to reproduce the corresponding mobs. Make sure that there are no holes in the fence through which animals can scatter across the area.

The Pig is the only mob on this list that can be used as a mount. To do this you need to put a saddle on it. However, it is not controlled in the usual way. To make it move, you need to pick up a carrot on a fishing rod. The pig will then run in the direction the player is looking.

How to tame a parrot

Parrots are found in the jungle biome. Taming a parrot in Minecraft is much easier than getting to it, because these birds sit on the tops of trees and move around very often. If you manage to get close enough, just give the parrot any seeds. After this, he will follow you, and can also sit on your shoulder if you stand near him for a while. A tamed bird can continue to be fed with seeds, but there is no practical benefit from this. She will also eat cookies, but from such food she will get the effect of poisoning and will soon die.

Parrots have not only decorative, but also practical uses. They repeat ambient sounds in a slightly distorted form, and also try to indicate to the player the location of hostile mobs.

How to tame a llama

A llama in Minecraft is tamed in the same way as a horse. You need to climb it until the animation with hearts appears. However, after taming, she will not follow the player, and will not allow herself to be controlled. It can be used as a cargo animal, after equipping it with a chest. Depending on the strength indicators, a llama can have from 3 to 15 slots for items.

If you put a leash on a llama, 10 other nearby llamas will follow it. This way you can create one or more caravans and carry huge amounts of loot. Llamas can be equipped with any type of carpet that fits in the armor slot. Depending on the color, the carpet on the llama will receive a special pattern.

Like most other animals, llamas can be raised using their favorite food, haystacks. Cubs receive the coloring of one of their parents, as well as a random strength rating that cannot be higher than that of the strongest of them.

The best taming mods

If you don’t have enough tamed animals in Minecraft, then use the mod. It adds a huge number of mobs, most of which can become the player's companions. Moreover, after installing it, it will be possible to tame creatures that could not be domesticated in the vanilla version. For example, you can have a personal spider and even ride it.

If you like dealing with tamed wolves, then be sure to download the mod. It makes their behavior more reasonable, now they are less likely to die due to absurd accidents and will no longer accidentally push the player into lava or an abyss. In addition, you can create a booth for them and even take them with you in carriers.

Many players are interested in how to tame a bat in Minecraft. Unfortunately, this feature is not available in the vanilla version, but it is perfectly implemented in the mod. To do this, you will need to feed the mob pumpkin pie. After that, you can pick it up and pump it up, increasing the amount of HP and damage.

You won't be able to tame dragons in Minecraft, but thanks to the mod you can find their eggs and raise your own. An adult dragon will become an incredibly powerful companion. Moreover, you can saddle it and go flying.

For those who want to quickly find a good horse, a mod has been created . With its help, you will find out the speed and endurance of the horse by going to the standard debugging mode. A simple mod will allow you to disable damage to your pets.

Minecraft developers periodically delight gamers by adding various items, new blocks and mobs. One such mob was added to the game - this is a parrot.

The parrot is a flying mob and the second bird in the game (the first is the chicken). Thanks to the efforts of the designers, five coloring options were added - light green, dark blue, red, gray and yellow-blue.

This mob lives only in the jungle biome, but if you tame it, it will travel around the world and even teleport to you if you move too far. To tame it, you need to feed it any seeds. At the same time, he should not be given cookies, otherwise he will get the effect of poisoning and die after a while.

You can place up to two individuals on your shoulder. To do this, just stand next to him. If you jump or go down from the block, the parrot will fly off, but will continue to follow you. Just like bats, these mobs do not have a collision model, so they can penetrate blocks while flying. When the player is nearby, they make sounds similar to the screams of other mobs, and when an aggressive enemy appears, they will attract attention and give away his location.

Separately, it is worth noting the parrot’s ability to dance. If you place a record player next to a group of birds, they will begin to waddle from side to side, shake their heads and jump.
